Hi my name is Randall and I have been in the Adventure STEM program since 5th grade. The STEM program, like you may already know, is a program that teaches students by allowing them to participate in many projects. It is just like a regular school, but we instead we have a smaller campus and a larger workload. These projects enhance our knowledge on the topic, such as our science projects, but enhance our abilities to collaborated and think outside of the box.

We constantly use technology. In fact, we are typing these in class right now! Technology has affected our learning in ways that acustom us to tech and adapt us to the modern age. These days, everyone has technology, such as their phones, tablets, and computers. Although we didn't build a computer or code like we did last year, we still learned how to use applications such as google apps, edmodo, kahoot, trello, khan academy, i-ready, etc. This learning will help us in the future and make our lives easier in more ways than I can imagine. Currently, I already find these apps useful.

Honestly, I think that there are slightly too many projects. There are so many that our google drive can be scrolled down for 30 seconds and still not hit the first project that we had, which is something that I can't remember because we have so many to do. There is a project in every class almost every 2 weeks. Since these projects are almost always team projects, over the years, I have honed my collaboration skills and creativity. Even though there are a lot of projects, I believe that they were more beneficial than regular homework.

An important aspect of Adventure is our teachers. Our teachers have been consistent in the fact that they are amazing and have taught my class of 2024 a lot of different things. We have kept up with the ciriculum, and personally, I believe that I did well on my tests due to their teaching.

Although we have many projects but slightly less homework (I know because I talk with friends from regular middle schools), we still are really just a regular middle school. We have a smaller campus because we are a part of another middle school, but we still participate in the same activities as our connected middle school. Even though we are somewhat secluded from the "cool kids" that are at the larger, base, middle school, I believe that gives us socially secluded kids personality and help us mature faster.
